HOMEOPATHY IS MEDICINE FOR THE 21ST CENTURY. It uses tiny doses of natural substances. It is non-toxic, non-addictive and safe for use even in pregnancy, lactation, the early years and towards the end of life. It takes into account physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health www.homeopathy-soh.org www.facultyofhomeopathy.org/media/index.html
HOMEOPATHY IS HUGELY POPULAR, it is the leading "alternative" treatment used by physicians in Europe. In 2000 it was used by over 100 million Europeans, a number that increases year on year http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dana-ullman/homeopathic-medicine-euro_b_402490.html
HOMEOPATHY IS EFFECTIVE. There is a growing body of evidence that shows homeopathy to be an effective treatment option for a range of conditions www.homeoinst.org, http://www.homeopathy-soh.org/whats-new/research/evid/default.aspx
HOMEOPATHY OFFERS CHOICE. There are some medical conditions that do not respond well to medical treatment and some people who prefer an approach that works with the body’s own natural healing mechanism. Many people find homeopathy to be a much valued alternative.

Research into the effectiveness of homeopathy.
I am part of a research team that is a collaboration of clinicians including the consultant rheumatologist at Barnsley Hospital, academics including the professor of complementary medicine at Leeds University and homeopaths. We have instigated three trials into the effectiveness of homeopathy. The first, that shows homeopathy to be effective for fibromyalgia, was published in 2008 www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19358959 .This is the fourth published study to show homeopathy to be effective treatment for fibromyalgia www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19358958
Our second study, just completed, shows similar trends and will be published in 2011. The third is investigating the effectiveness of homeopathy for irritable bowel syndrome and will commence in autumn 2010.
